Do you ever get that sunken feeling with your Teg? Long rant.

I’ve been slowly picking away at turboing my DB1 over the last few years. I started with rebuilding the bottom end with new pistons, rods etc. In the same process I converted from an auto to a 5 speed since the engine was being swapped anyways. I’ve been daily driving it the last couple of years while I slowly saved up and whored parts for the actual turbo build. Fast forward to about two months ago. I put the car up jackstands and slowly have been getting the engine bay ready. Installed thin fans, swapped out the injectors, installed FPR & fuel pressure gauge, doing a battery relocation, removing the ABS, removing the full size rad and replacing with a 1/2 rad.
Tonight I started working on mounting the turbo piping by dry fitting the turbo and manifold only to find out the turbo hits the block so the manifold won’t sit flush to the head. “No problem” I thought, “I’ll just shave the block a bit to get it to work”. During the dry fit process, I removed the 1/2 rad to better maneuver the turbo/manifold into place. After brushing off the block issue, I thought I’d double check to make sure everything fit okay, I try to reinstall the rad only to find out now that there is no room between the turbo’s internal wastegate and the A/C condensor for the 1/2 rad to fit.
At that moment, I got that sunken feeling in my chest and just about hari-karied my self with the nearest tool I could find. I’m at that point now that I just want to give up and part everything out. I wanted to get this project done by the end of summer, but it’s not looking very good at this point. :bang::bang::mad::mad::shrug::shrug::gunleft::gunleft:

sounds like my last couple da’s, put holes in a couple radiators, removed a/c’s and no finally the third time was a charm, got the turbo set up to run pretty cherry and i still have my a/c as well… i just get that sinking feeling now when i think about finishing the bodywork so i can get some color on… don’t give up man, just gotta take a step back, breathe and take a different approach at it… GL on build

i had my gt28 blow after only 2000km. that was bad times. then i riped the exhaust off and it bent the lca. and now i think my second gt28 is starting to go and i have no idea why. not to mention i think i need to re ring my engine. but im still moving foward. i know how you feel.

i took my engine to the machine shop and had them reassemble everything after they did all the work making it new again…then i wire tucked shaved the bay and brake line tucked the car while the engine was getting ready…get the engine back, install everything,looks awsome take it to go get an alignment, go to a friends house to realize that oil is leaking everywhere…fill it up a little take it home and find out its coming from the brand new oil pump where the crank snout comes through…

back to square one…

you mean the front crank seal?? that’s not even close to sqare one and an easy fix.

Haha, I know exactly how you feel. I think my car has spent more time in the paint shop and on jack stands then on the road. Thousands of dollars and it still sits on jackstands.:rimshot:

This post is amazing. Im at this point right now. Tried a brake tuck with big brakes, failed. Why? Bc i dont know why i cant get enough fluid to the rear brakes. They wont grab. I even have an adjustable proportioning valve. Ive tried three times. And after f*&$%#* 500 bills…still have no brakes. Where is my gun? Then im in the process of my b20/vtec build…holy hell. Really? Why So expensive? It is going to take me a couple thousand dollars for shit…and then i build it. Whats that you say? Oh yes, yes, how could i forget. On top of all this, my second gear syncro is going out. So whats all the horses for? Cant even use them. What could be worse? Ahh…yes, third gear syncro is out. Sweet…anyone want a beautiful da? B20/vtec, big braked, shaved and lightened, wired tucked…integra? Lol. What a car.

My teg has been on jack stands all summer also, started with brakes also. I did change the shift knob, so at least that went well.

lol, now that is what i am talking about. im very surprised that went well. you didnt push the shifter through the piece of crap bushing and onto the exhaust pipe?:surrend:

my build took over 4 fcking years!!! first and second guy fck up everything. but 3rd time is the charm , now the car is a beast at 500+whp and running great. keep your head up things will work out.

lol, 4 yrs? mine is taking me 3 so far. if only i had all the money in the world…id be a wealthy…booooyyyyyy. oh…and time.
