Does my really have a LS transmission??

I was under the impression that my car was all stock, however I know that if that was the case, I would have an LS tranny. Why I’m questioning this is because at 65mph in 5th gear I am at 3500rpm(or close to there), and that seems high to me, but maybe I’m just used to my HX tranny that I had in the civic. Any info or help is appreciated, thanks!

hmm i dont know but in my car im at 3500 closer to 80mph

See, that is what i was thinking this would be at too, a friend of mine said it might have a b16 tranny, all i know is all of the gears seem pretty short IMO.

yea on a ls tranny 1st and 2nd are pretty long…

I guess I’ll just have to get to the tranny and see what one I have, and then hope to get an ls soon. I do a couple 100 mile trips a month, dont wanna be cruising 80mph at 4000+ rpm for those trips…

I think I’m at about 3300rpm at 65mph. Stock 91 tranny.

Use a Honda Transmission Calculator found online? Enter in the size of you’re tires, pick a transmission and see what speed you should be atfr the given RPM. Much easier than waiting for replies here.

Every LS trans I have ever put in my car reads 80mph at 4k

only problem though is this tran calculator says other

Like other say, I have a stock A1 and at 65 am running at about 32-3300 RPM so to seem a little high on RPM is completely normal. was the same with my old accord and Prelude as well.

kinda have to expect that since 20+ years ago the spped limit was only 55. AT 55 I run at 2500 RPM like most modern cars do at 65 these days. Our cars were designed to get best gas mileage @ 55 MPH. Only way to get around it is to swap out 5th gear for one that runs lower RPM.
