door closing issues due to weather stripping

Hello, I noticed that my driver side door does not close properly, i have to really slam it shut in order to close it all the way. At first I thought maybe the door latch/hook needed some type of adjustment but then I realized that the top right corner window weather stripping is causing my door not to close fully. I rolled down my window partially and the door closed fine without having to slam the door shut. This is on my 93 db2. I read somewhere that I could “shave” the weather stripping??? Has anyone else experienced this issue? Any tips? It’s getting really annoying how I have to slam the door shit in order to close it right.

The weather stripping does seem to be thicker on the top right corner of the window which causes the window to stick out a little making the door not close all the way.

this is common issue on our integras… Mine does this too. SOmewhere someone did a writeup on this site about readjusting the windows with some screws to fix it.

You don’t want to shave the weather stripping unless you want to find your car flooded after it rains next… I just make sure I am pressing my window in when I close the door so it isn’t popped out.

i tried looking for the write up here but i cant seem to find anything

or you can lower the stopper a bit so your window wont overlap that lil lip of the weather stripping.

MM&Y and trim level of your car would help. 94

how would i do this exactly?

you may also want to verify the window regulator isn’t bent… any way you look at it you will have to pull the door panel off and inspect the inside of the door

Can’t seem to find that article myself… wish I remember the exact keyword I typed to get to the article… Found it on google and low and behold it was on this forum…

take off your door panel and lower the window up and down. you’ll see where the stopper is. measure how much you need to adjust and readjust the bolt accordingly.

Ok cool i will definitely be doing this as soon as i get a chance. Ill let u guys know if i was able to resolve this issue! Thanks for EVERYONE’S input.

I am pretty sure it is not the weather stripping, at least not in my case, since that appears identical to the right side which works perfectly.

What I have noticed is that there is a tiny amount of play in the driver side window, compared to the psgr side, and only when the window is less than completely rolled up. Not something one would normally notice, unless you are looking for it, because there is no movement when the window is completely up, or completely down. So - I am guessing that the glass is a bit loose, and when I roll it up all the way against the stop, that play allows it to tilt slightly inward, towards the car frame.

When I slam the door, that pushes the window back in place and the door closes properly, but:
When I close the door normally, there is not enough force to push the window into place, and the door does not latch.

(Had the opposite problem on another car, loose window tilted out a tiny bit, and leaked in a rain).

had the same problem, i tried fuckin around with the window stoppers, i found one was broken, too much of pain to replace the part, just pulled the driver window from my other teg…Problem solved
