Has anyone removed and replaced the Door Detent Rod? Its the little arm that prevents the door from swinging open too far and also holds the door in place when opened. Any help would be appreciated.
i think u gotta take out ur whole door to take it out…
no man just knock the pin that is in the pillar out from the bottom and undo the two ten mil bolts that hold it in the door and let it fall in the door
you gotta take off the door panel and the speaker to get it out of there
i actually left mine off and the door swings open like almost 80-85 degrees you just gotta be careful when you are on hills but it helps me get my big ass out of there easier
to remove it is easy. I want to know if someone has done it and has a really good idea as to how to replace it with another. I guess I could use your steps though, I would just attach wire so that I can pull the lugs back through so that it can be rebolted on with the replacement.
Anyone else have an experience at this. let me know.
