bump.
I may have had a sound like this, but I think it was caused by something else. At the time I had an 87 accord. Someone had backed into the door about 9 inches behind the hinge. This caused the part of the door at the hinge, to somehow deflect outward. Whenever I closed the door, the trim on the door and fender would rub, causing the fender to be pushed in. It developed into the metal panel of the door pushing in the fender eventually. It wasn’t pretty.
It doesn’t sound like this is your problem, and it sounds like you’ve already checked that there isn’t any rubbing. If you haven’t, it might be a good idea to do that.
actually. in procces of swapping my fenders (witht he jdm ones) i had opened and closed the door sevral times and noticed the sond was still there…even with the fender off so i doubt its the fender + door trim…must be something els …but what? hmmmmmm(thinking hard making me do this :bang: lmao…thnx for your bump and help though
I have same problem! I am thinking of replacing hinges!
It could be several things:
Check your hinges, grease if ness. The bar that keeps the door from swingin’ all the way open ( the one in the middle of the door, between the hinges.) mat be bent. Your door sill may be catching, or popped up. The door may also be crooked. Once again, check hinges.
Lastly, try the other side. The metal bar that your door latches into may have a wear mark in it, (probably does) as 14-17 years of useage will do that. If it does, you can take out the screws & turn it around. Viola, new latching surface! This also works for a door that doesn’t quite close all the way, as the latch bar can be moved up & down, side to side.
Good luck. :getsome: :manual:

I replaced the door hinges and it cured most of my problem, it just makes a light pop now due to door stop!:werd:
