downshifting second gear

About 2 weeks ago my transmission started to do a strange issue

I’m running a 1991 b16a transmission without a LSD
oil running in is GM synchromesh

the issue is no problem shifting 1 to 2 to 3 to 4 to 5 easily, no grind even at 8200rpm

but in revers sequence 5 to 4 fine, 4 to 3 fine, 3 to 2 omg it doesnt get into the second gear!!!

what i have to do is to trying to push the shifter on 1rst then 2nd then 1rst then 2nd until it come in 2nd, this is very embarassing when i what to downshift and it take me ike 5-10 seconds to get into 2nd gear…

when the car is not moving, with engine started or not everything get fine no more issue getting into 2nd gear or whatever

any idea??? i checked my clutch ajustment and seem to be fine…

maybe the synchro is bad/gone? rev match?

if youre not rev matching when you downshift, youre doing it wrong anyway. for the sake of your clutch and possibly your transmission, please learn to rev-match and downshift properly.

hell, my mom even rev-matches when she drives a manual, shes no performance driver or anything, she just learned how to drive a manual transmission properly. why do you think all these high-tech new transmissions do it? even in normal driving the EVO X and GTR both rev match when you downshift their paddle boxes around town.

anyway there’s an update:

yesterday my b20vtec turbo has died… :frowning: i started to unbolt everything and drop fluid and i’m really surprise of one thing! there was less 1/2 pint in the transmission so my transmission leaking , i will figure out where and fix that!
