If the boot had a tear and water was in there and then it was parked it could have rusted. From the pic i can see the outer boot is not seated where it should be. Moisture probably just got inside and rusted it up. That’s my guess.
Yea probably well all I can do now is wait for the brake calipers
Switched the calipers ran good and runs better than before but still drags/sticks what should I do now??
Abs comes on when accelerating?? Like around 45mph
Help anybody???
I’m all out of ideas now. Is it the front or the rear brakes?
brake fluid flush? abs system is pretty faulty on our cars. abs light comes on means the computer has disable the abs and the brakes are working without the feature.
It’s only the front
Could it be the brake lines or master cylinder
Now I’m really out of ideas. If it were the rears I was thinking something with the Ebrake. You say you checked the slider pins before. How did they look and did you clean them up? If there is rusty build up in there it could be binding up a little. Just an idea because I don’t think the lines or MC would have that effect. If they are not returning to their “home” position then something is binding up most likely.
like i said i switched out the brake calipers slider pins look fine, but on the old calipers the grease seemed old but no rust I cleaned them and but them back. also i look up the dragging brakes and it said the MC and brake lines could be the problem??
Maybe it could be the lines or MC. I hope someone else with more experience will chime in because I don’t know that much about MC’s. I have just had the slider pin and seized piston issues myself. I hope you figure it out. When you do post it up and let everyone know.
alright thanks for your help
Replaced master cylinder but brake pedal still feels spongy and goes to the floor bled the brakes two times each, and abs comes on around 45mph any help would be appreciated
as far as those calipers go did you try using a flat edge ( Like a flat file) and turn the caliper pistons using that cross notch on the piston? some of these you actually have to do that to get the piston to compress a C-Clamp doesn’t work like it does on american rides… this method was how I did my calipers when I replaced the pads and rotors.
I learned that trick working on my Mazda 6
