I’ve been having a hard time making a new drivers side cv axle seat properly. I bought a new cv axle from autozone for my 92 Integra LS. I was able to engage it and slide it in but there is about a half an inch gap between the inner cv joint end. I am pretty sure it needs to go all the way. Just wanted to see if anyone else has had this problem and if so, how did you get it to work? Thanks.
Put some more force in it and you should here the click. Dont bang on it though as this can damage the axle. I ususally just seat the teeth first then use both of my hands and jam it in there till i hear th click. Give it a nice tug to make sure its secure and your good to go. GL!
I spent almost a half hour trying to jam it in with my hands with no luck. That’a when I put a hammer to it to see if it would seat it but I couldn’t get it with the hammer. Don’t know what else to do. I didn’t hammer it with as much force as I could have becauase I didn’t want to damage the axle but I am to the point that I want to just to see if it will seat. This relatively simple task is being a bigger pain than I thought.
It may be a passenger side one. Do the splines run the full length of the part you put in the hole?
Top: Driver’s side cv
Bottom: Passenger’s side cv
Does yours match the top one?
