so this may be a dumb question to some but i hope someone can give me a straight answer…im putting innovative mounts in my car and noticed that the driver side mount is half the thickness of the stock mount, also notice that the thread is nowhere near threaded enough to actually tighten the bolt down to it. So im just wondering if anyone else have encountered this problem or if im missing something i dunno but if you have had the same issue and figured out how to make it work could you PLEASE post the solution and whatever extra parts you got to make it work…appreciate it & thanks in advance!!!
Just asking but have you bought the mounts yet? If not I would save just a bit more and invest in some Hasport mounts. From talking to peeps at our mini meets and having innovative mounts myself on my DB2, I am not satisfied. Most of the peesp I have discussed with about these mounts have already swapped to Hasports. Yea i still have my inno’s in, and are just dealing with them for the time being, but when I get my GSR the way i want it im going to swap them out for some Hasports. Dont get me wrong, there are billions of good reviews about Inno’s but its just my personal pref… Choose your weapon wisley.

ya i already got the mounts in and the 2 of the 3 mounted so a little too late on that part, so hopefully im satisfied and just really wanna know if this is a common problem and the solution but thanks for the heads up
I installed mine a few years ago. They were a bit tighter to shoehorn in than the OEM ones but I don’t think it was much of an issue to drop the engine in. They seemed to be perfect sized replacements to the originals. I snapped a couple of pics for you to see, I hope it helps. Your description makes me think you may have the incorrect mount. Also are you using the original piece that goes between the block and the mount? I swapped in a B18B and that piece was different so I reused the original from the B18A. You might want to call Innovative customer service.
sorry i wasnt really clear on which part of the mount thats my mistake the part is where it actually bolts to the engine
notice how the thread doesnt seem to go all the way to the mount.
and when compared to the stock mount its half the thickness so i dunno if im just missing something or what
thank you for the input
Return them and buy Hasport!!! I used the innovative’s on a few cars and I ALWAYS have to go back and change them back to stock or Hasport. To this day every mount kit I’ve used except OEM and Hasport has either need some extent of modification or trips to the store to get different bolts, spacers, or grind down material off the mount itself. Shit a kit for an EK a friend ordered one time moved the motor to far to the driver side and I ended up having to throw the shit mounts in the trash and go to the junkyard and pull stock ones just to get the car moving. TO give you an idea of how good Hasports are if they don’t put the bolt in the kit then your stock bolt/nut will work perfect. On my personal vehicle I used innovative because Hasport was still developing there’s at the time. Not even a year later the poly was sliding out the mounts and my rear mount when pulled had started detereating(spell?) and when I pulled the metal sleeve out, well it actually fell out, of the back mount I was able to fit 2 fingers in the now gapping hole. I been on Hasports for 2 years now and this particular set has been in 2 cars and still just as good as the day I bought them. PLEASE from my REAL EXPERIENCE with Avid, Innovative, and Egay replacement “performance” mounts Hasport is the dick I will ride when it comes to this subject. I told Titan the same thing when I met him last month in Orlando. Alright well don’t take this as me being a dick or obnoxious but I just hate seeing people go threw the same headaches I did when I was learning this stuff. Hope it all works for you and if you’re using the OEM nut for that post it’ll work because of the way the Honda designed that nut.
EDIT: Take a picture of the stock nut you’re using. I believe maybe I had changed mine out for the nut used on a newer Civic/Integra but I’m pretty sure it was the same.
Nobody else have this issue?
sorry but you might want to contact the dealer directly, I have the polished aluminum mounts and didnt have an issue since theyre like 1" thick…
I would just add like 3 or 4 fat washers then the nut and torqe it down tight as long as the bolts line up right.
Punch out the old studs off the mount and use your own shorter nut and bolts.
Thank you da6xsi06 that a definitive answer that I’ve been looking for appreciate it I’ll be calling real soon
