so its been rainin all damn day… so what? i got wipers right? BS the driver side wiper gets stuck as soon as i get to speed in town… well i gotta go outta town and thats not gunna fuckin work. how can i fix this so i can get shit done
it doesnt make any damn sense, i tried adjusting them as far down to the plastic trim piece as i could get them to go and it didnt help it starts out i can see it out the driverside window then when i get to speed it gets stuck. had to drive home with my hand out the window so it didnt get stuck again and use the other hand to flip off three people that pulled out in front of me. dumbshits.
to top it off the rear hatch leaks. this is the first time its rained since i got the car.
EDIT theyve also got like three inches or so of play when the wipers are off.
when the wipers are turned on the drivers side windshield wiper gets stuck on the door window while im driving and the wipers dont move anymore when that happens and i can move the wipers around when they arent on.
with all that play, maybe the teeth on the metal piece that holds the whiper are grinded down or the plastic piece on the whiper is grinded down so when it tries to rotate the whiper it just spins.
Or maybe the gears are broken or the teeth are broken.
just a thought.
I cant really explain the parts for the whiper but you might know what im talking about.
i was thinkin maybe the wiper motor was just so worn out that theres a ton of play in it cause it acts like the arms are loose but i know i tightened the hell outta it. the teeth looked pretty good where the arm attaches but i didnt really look at the arm itself. they keep moving until the drivers arm catches on the door window then they both stop.
yea double check the arm and if there is play from there.
I dont know about why they get stuck though, either motor or gears are broken. Also maybe the relay is bad.
Lots of things that may be wrong.
like i said when its off its adjusted all the way to the plastic piece at the bottom of the window. the bolt that holds it on is tight and the teeth are good. make more since?
I got the problem when I’m going over 80kmh’ish, the wipers wont go all the way down. They sit a few inches up the windshield. They don’t creep up, it’s only when they’re on, and then go back down. What’s the issue? Old motor?
Wow dude, that’s hardcore off. I would take the entire wiper assembly apart and re-assemble it OEM. Inspect every piece closely. If that doesn’t work it’s probably your motor??? You can pick one up pretty cheap, maybe even a local G2 owner can spot you one.
i was thinkin just replace the whole wiper motor and maybe the arms as well just for the sake of knowin its all new stuff. thats pretty much what i decided, it just sucks and i hope it doesnt rain again cause i use my car for work and i work all weekend.
its the wiper arm. the teeth are pretty much gone. that sucks cause none of the parts stores carry arms.
luckily theres three or four DA’s locally in salvage yards but i gotta work all weekend and it was rainin all day yesterday and salvage yards close friday at 4 and dont open again till monday mornin.
