I was searching, and I could not find an article on how to replace the outer door panel. I dont want to replace my entire driver’s door, just replace the outer panel that is bent up a little.
The door skin? Like the sheet metal part?
You gotta drill the spot welds. Or break em somehow. Drilling em would be the easiest. Then when They’re all broken, fold back the skin from the frame of the door.
Putting one on takes some finesse. Do it wrong and its very easy to make it wavy and rough. Slowly fold back the new skin around the door, going back and forth (not just one area at a time). When its all folded back, spot weld it back, or you can use a metal adhesive.
Heres a pretty good step-by-step.
Thanks. I might just take the entire donor door, repaint it Horizon Gray, and put my current trim back on it. I dont want a miss matching door jam, in case I ever try to sell the car.
looks like A LOT of work id just find the same color door or paint the replacement
