dropped; best ride quality

hey, i’m looking for the best ride possible with a drop.

right now i have progress sports 1.8/2.0 I believe. I havent put them on my car yet because i’m waiting for some shocks (to make the job easier when i do it), but i was wondering what type of shock (for a reasonable price) would give me the best ride.

i’m looking for a good sized drop, but i would like to keep the soft ride as much as possible. perhaps if i got aftermarket shocks and kept the springs would this leave me with a nice ride but slight drop?

please get back to me with your thoughts on how to keep a soft ride while still maintaining a nice sized drop. in the end i might end up staying on stock springs/shocks.

thanks

I hope you mean 2.0 front / 1.8 rear coz’ if it’s the other way around, your car will look uneven…too much fender gap at the front. In any case, I had my car dropped 1.5" using Suspension Techniques with Tokico Blues front and KYB GR2 rear. And definitely, the ride quality improved over stock. I’m sure 2.0" would be fine, but if it makes you feel any better, buy some adjustables for the front.

Just my input,

Oz

alright, but by better ride i mean as soft. i don’t want my car to be like a rock when i hit bumps/speedbumps, etc

so some tokico blues all the way around would be fine?

for about 200-300 i’m looking for good shock to compliment my springs, are the tokicos this price range? i don’t know the difference between the reds, blues, yellows, etc

get back to me, thx

This was a couple of years ago bot I bought a pair of Bilsteins.Very good ride when cruising ;stiffens up nicely when pushed.Have not had a problem with them at all.

how much did the billsteins run you?

and are they adjustable and where did you buy them?

Didn’t think Bilsteins were ever made for our cars. I might be wrong, dunno.
