I put my new head and stuff on a couple of days ago. I drive it 50 miles to get home. I had to stop ever5 miles because it was over heating. The very next day, I get in it and it wont start. I looked in the haynes manual and the distributor ddntlook like the one I have(I changed the rotor). I need help please.
It is probably your coil or ignitor. Try to find someone that has an extra one of each to test on your car.
Before I go any further, what does your car do when you try to start it??
If it does crank over and just not start, check the coil and ignitor first. That means that it is in the fuel/ignition system somewhere…

Did you figure out why it was overheating too? Sounds like either you’re really low on coolant, or your thermostat is toast, or your water pump isn’t doing the job… but I think if that were gone, it would probably take your timing belt with it…
sounds like i’ts your coils. if you need one let me know. i’ll hook you up real cheap… say… 35 shipped.
It started today, I dont know what the problem was. I just un-hooked all of the distributor stuff and hooked it back together. Maybee it needed to dry out or something. I just bought a MSD distributor cap, so I can use a standard coil(Not installed yet). But my car was over heating because of a drip coming from out of a thing under the throttle body on the front side. There is a hose there and it is connected tight. I also need to know where the bottom hose off the water neck goes. Can someone help me? A picture is worth a thousand words:D
