Dual Exhaust??

So I noticed today while I was putting on my new rotors and brakes that I have a second exahaust hanger on the right side of my back end. Opposite of the hanger in use of course. So now my question is … Anybody know where to find a dual exhaust?

ewww

In order to run dual exhaust you have to have custom headers made. It would be two 2 into 1 headers and you could run both pipes down the center of the car like the original factory routing. you would need two catalytic converters also. due to lack of space you wouldn’t be able to run an x or h pipe. have fun with your new dual exhaust.

or you could just have a single pipe and split it near the end for dual exhaust.

shut up TEGlover…all you would have to do is split the pipping to 2 tips after the rear axles…check out some cars on here and you’ll realize its something you’ll want to change after a year of having it

Running a Y pipe isn’t a true dual exhaust. dual exhaust is a waste of time and money on a 4 cylinder car, you would likely lose power also. but what do I know. go ahead and do it. just make sure you run at least 3 inch pipe and 6 inch tips. don’t forget the altezzas and kombat body kit either yo

Your’e right you would lose power, you would gain torque though. It wouldnt be much.

Okay okay calm down. I didn’t start this post to cause any trouble so please don’t let it lead that way. I just wanted to know. And look I learned something. Now that I know I’ll be losing power I’m not gonna do it. And as for the bodykit comment I actually take offense to that. Again not doing this to start crap, but for my own taste I have a spider kit. I did it because I like the aggresive look on my car. No other reason. I don’t think it adds HP or makes me more agile on the streets, I just like it. Lol but if it helps any I went wingless  Thanks for the tips guys I didn’t know I’d be getting a power loss I’ll just fill in the extra exhaust slot on my rear bumper. I guess twos not always better then one.:salute: I salute you!

dual exhaust = rice.

and no function unless u have a V.

idiots

Teglover is right IF it is set up the way he is talking about by running, in essence, 2 headers. no one does that. it can be used on a 4 cyl engine, cases in point, the s2000, the tsx, and the dodge srt4. on integras people usually just split the exhaust after the rear axle. it’s completely useless on our cars. you won’t gain anything, not horsepower or torque midnightteg. it’s only for show as far as bseries engines go.

You actually lose power with a dual exhaust, no bueno!:loser:

Well i was talking with my dad about it and he said that if you run a true dual system, you would gain horsepower because of less backpressure and lose torque.

if you split the pipe it wouldn’t hurt anything. it would look better than having a huge hole there. .02

read the exhaust articles on this site. go from there.

what u need to realize midnight is that…our tegs dont have that much back pressure…so in the essence of a V8, yes u would gain power due to loss of the massive amount of back pressure they have but we really dont have that much. 2 1/2 inch pipe is plenty to air out our back pressure. With a dual you would lose too much back pressure and then loss of power occurs.

So wait, I still want to keep back pressure? What about when my turbo motor build is done? 9:1 comp. @ 15 psi. I thought I didn’t want any back pressure.

yeah that’s totally different especially since v8’s have a lot more displacement. You definently don’t want to do that for a 4-banger. I didn’t have any problems with splitting the pipe for the exhaust near the end. Just don’t go too big and you’ll still have plenty of backpressure that is required.

well, lets make it simple, if you want to run duals exhaust go for it, its your car…will it make your car slower? probably…but there’s a couple of ways to do it, you can get one of those axle back mufflers that have 2 outlets and just run 2 tips from there, but if you want to run dual canister exhaust, just make sure you have smaller diameter pipes, example, if your running a header with 2.25 inch pipe, that means from the catback you run 1.75 inch pipes all the way to the y pipe…

i got one for sale…let me know
