walbro 400 for e85
rc1200cc
s300
looking to make 500whp.
plan on getting a pump gas and e85 tune, but want to run e85 in it as much as possible
is anyone in the wasington area running e85 from the pump?
consistant ethonal content?
ive been told by a few sorces that washington state really doesnt change the blend for einter summer?
also i guess its a washington state law that all stations that carry e85 are required to test the fuel wihing 2-3% of e85
just lookong foe some guys with personal experience with e85 to get me in the right direction thanks. done a shit ton of searching so please dont tell me to search
There seems to be only like 6 E85 pumps in all of WA. haha, and only 1 in Olympia. Unless the site Im using it outdated.
You can buy an ethanol tester, I don’t believe they are very expensive.
yeah i was thinking i would buy a little test tube, the shell in olympia where i live is currently not carrying it. i tried to talk to the guys their and they showed no intrest on helping me find out when they willl have it again. damn arabs hung up on me, ended up going in their in person and they just wouldnt talk much. damn arabs. anyways the other closest one is centalia which only like 25 min away. thinkin i might fill up a drum so im not constantly driving back and forth
your motor build really has no use for e85 at all…your compression is rather low…im willing to bet you will make more power on pump gas than e85 and with e85 your just gonna burn through fuel faster…i ran e85 in my db1 but only bc my compression was 12.5:1
i doubt it due to the fact that with low compression like i have it taKes more boost to make power, more boost heightens the likelyhood of knock and detonation, e85 is considered to be knock and detonation proof. thanks for the help eveyone, but i talked with james at speedfactory, and according to him its a very good idea, he also shared many myths that people will try to get you to believe on forums so i will share them. james and kevin explained many instances where theyve seen e85 sit in cars for over a month and be just fine, you can also use the stock fuel line to about 600hp. also after many hours of phone calls james said he has descovered that alsost every fuel supplier in washington doesnt even bother to switch to a “winter blend” bacuase our wether here is bipolar. i also did some of my own research and found =out its wa se law the ststions cannot supply e85 under 75% ethonal at the pump, they are required to test it on a regular basis. so i have officially switched. i will have a switch ran to switch maps from e85 to pump gas buy ut im really going to try to make this car an e85 only car
Not really good to run e85 unless you plan to run a comp of 13:1 or more. Also e85 is really hard to tune and run 100%
You can dyno and run 100% on one pass and the next day run another pass on the same car and the hp numbers will be different under the exact weather conditions.
I say keep it 91 pump if it’s a daily.
Guys that use e85 always end up upgrading to q16 or some other race fuel that gives them consistent hp numbers.
