Hey have any of u guys had the opportunitty to try this f1racing or xtd clutch kits and lighten flywheel? I wanna now if they hold or slips or if they ashely grip? Plz inputs. Thanks
My buddy had two XTD clutches, one in each of his civics… they both held up very well. And my brother has an f1Racing clutch that he does not like.
If picking from an eBay brand, i’d try XTD.
What’s ur bro pushin power wise? And does he punch it and holds? Nice
My buddy that ran the xtd clutches had a b16a in a 1991 civic ef with intake, header and exhast. His other was a '98 civic b16b civic-r motor with intake, header, exhaust and factory LSD trans.
He drove his cars hard… I remember him launching ay 5,500+rpm. His clutch held strong for about a year and a half, then someone totalled the ek, and stole his ef. But but xtd clutches help up well.
My brother is pushing close to 200whp with a b16 all-motor build and F1Racing clutch. The clutch/disc doesn’t feel very stiff, and the disc has moments of slippage after less than 1,000 miles.
However there is a difference… my friend properly broke his clutches in by getting 500 “regular” miles before driving aggressively. My brother didn’t break his in that way… that may have caused the difference in performance between the two brands. But as I said, positive experiences with xtd so far.
Thanks man good lookin out.
All I want it is for my 5spswap and motor is stock.
I think this will be my best bet.
Thanks
I have a XTD stage 3. Its overkill for my B18B with basic bolt ons(150-160HP). Its held up well the past 2 years. The hardest I’ve ever launched it is 4,000 rpms and its never slipped. If I had to do over I’d go stage 2. I also have an exedy 9.5 lb flywheel that I like a lot so I can’t comment on the XTD one. I would have got the combo if I didn’t have the Exedy beforehand.
I would personally stay away from F1 Racing. I put a stage 1 in a friends F22B Civic and it only lasted 6 months before it started slipping and I trust my friend broke it in properly. It took 12 hours to replace witch pissed us off. We put an XTD one in and it lasted a couple years until he sold the car.
