k, i want to know what shocks will work best with cheap e bay coil overs.I’ll be dropping 2".Also what camber kit should i get?
i would suggest getting some high end shocks to compensate for the coils. so maybe some koni’s? im on stock shocks so i wouldnt really know but the koni yellows seem to be popular among this forum. (i dont have ebay coils btw)
koni is the best strut you can buy for the teg.
If your going to get the $500 Koni’s might as well just go an extra $150 for some decent springs.
Trust me, For 2 years i was running ebay coil overs with KYB GR2 Struts. The damn car bottomed out EVERYWHERE, It rode like shit… I dont know how i put up with it for so long. Now it has H&R Race Springs with Tokico Illuminas ($300 for shocks/struts, $150 for springs). Bottoming out is the thing of the past and it rides great.
Not so cheap
where the hell did you get those shocks and struts for 300$?
i live in Canada, so maybe they’re more expensive here cuz the cheapest i’ve found were almost 500.
:stare: $500 for tokicos!?!. Yea i’ll say canada is more expensive. Mine were about $350.
what would i need to get for a 1990 RS. so that its not sitting so. what i mean , is how many inches would i have to lower it. to were the wheel weld come of the tire , by just a tad. thx for the help. im a little new to the forums. still waiting for my 7 days to be up . to be able to post picsm.
I would say 2"-2.5" would do you good.
Im on 2.5" with H&R Race springs on my DB, It looks good and its functional (handles better with no bottoming out)
i have the tein springs with kyb’s… rides pretty good… still bottom out sometimes though… going to go with skunk2 coils i think
its fun riding on the ebay coilovers hahah its bouncy when you put it on the lowest settings. no problems with them at all.
i just installed some ebay coilovers not too long ago, to replace the cut springs the previous owner put on. im raising my car back to stock height for now, but somehow i can’t get the spring to sit any higher on the perch, unless i compress the spring which i do not want to do. anyway…they ride fine, only thing is that if you do raise the car up…it will sit on the spring and when you hit a bump you can feel the spring move around a bit. to me, i can’t justify spending thousands of dollars on a suspension set-up UNLESS i’m racing circuits on a semi-pro or professional level. so…in my opinion ebay coilovers are great for the money thats spent on it, and the ride is not as bad as people make them out to be.

Umm, Read what you said. That’s not very bright, When you bounce around it’s
1: Dangerous (Your handleing sucks ass if you take a turn bouncing through it)
2:You look like a idiot bouncing around on the highway to everyone who works on their car right (Maybe its just me, But i laugh every time i see a car bounce around and the occupants going up and down)
3:It gets annoying fast for you and occupants.
ShiftKart: Oh yea, They are great if you want to look cool when its parked. But if you have a lead food and like cornering they are completely useless, I blame my bad set up for afew spin outs/oversteer i had (Aswell as my neglingence). Taking a curve going onto the freeway at about 45MPH (I was with another integra that was lowered the right way, He took it fine), Going down the turn, A pot hole appears, I run it over, The car bounced for a second when i heard my front bumper scrape the ground said “aw shit” and due to bouncing the rear end slid out from behind me. Had another similar incident but not as extreme, Just looked like i was trying to drift a FWD .
Give them time, You’ll hate them. I also use to frequent touge runs (not racing more like spirited cruising), I can feel a hell of a better difference with the new set up. The spending thousands… (although a thousandS is alittle pricey) I wouldnt spend more then $1300 for the best shock/spring/coil over set up.
EBAY COIL OVERS? … :umno: common man! im not trying to be rude or anything but… you’re haeding down the wrong path with those fake ass brands!.. ok their are things you can go cheap on to save money because sometimes you are just paying for the brand… BUT SUSPENSION IS DEFINETLY not one of them! when i baught my car i trew some ebay “BOMZ” coilovers on my car… worst thing i ever did! horribel ride quality… horribel handeling… the car felt unstabel at high speeds… they were 75 bucks. i later baught some SKUNK 2 coil overs. they are great! its not to hard, its no bouncy at all, it gives me new confidents in turns. but for trying to go cheap on stuff i ended up paying more because the skunk 2 were 200 and the bomz were 75. dont waste ur time… “DO IT ONCE, DO IT RIGHT”
A set of GC’s and Koni Yellows will not go over a grand. More like $7-800 if you find the right place to buy them. I got mine in a combo off No Limit Motor Sport, one of honda-tech’s sponsors for $785 shipped.

whats the hurry to drop the car? take your time and do it right. there are SOOOOO many good coilover setups for the hondas that i cant understand why you would do it any other way. a lot of people have throw you some really good advice in this thread. if you dont want your car to look/perform cheaply in action then i suggest you take their advice. we are here to help and if you listen to us, we will! good luck!
now that the canadian dollar is worth as much if not more than the US dollar, come down and buy those illuminas. They can be had for under 400 easily.
got my illumina + spring combo for 480 shipped.
US is the new mexico!
Only to canadians… We still go to mexico for cheaper stuff…
