ebay cold air intakes

Just a quick question, are all the ebay short ram’s basically the same (the ones under say 40$). I want an inexpensive CAI, anyone recommend a particualar one off ebay? TIA

they are pretty much all the same. just throw on a good k&n filter and you’ll be set.

pretty much ALL intakes are the same, ebay or not.

aluminum pipe, cone filter= aftermarket intake.

you want a nice intake setup, but want to keep it legal (and stock looking) do something like this on your car:

http://www.clubintegra.com/board/showthread.php?t=10918

but you’ll obviously have to do it differently as our airboxes are a little different. we dont have cone filters in our airboxes, we have panel style filters. now if someone could retrofit one in there, now that would be sweet.

A Short Ram Intake is Different than a Cold Air Intake.
A Short Ram Intake will place the Filter beside the Battery,
A Cold Air Intake will place the Filter behind the Bumper.

Use a Brand Name Cotton Air Filter: K&N, AEM, Injen, etc.

A Chrome Intake Tube will pit and corrode over time,
It is also more difficult to strip if you wish to paint it.
Anodized Aluminum is lighter and will resist corrosion.

Just hope that the PoPo dont pull you over and make you pop your hood and see’s that your intake does not have the carb sticker.

Most LA cops don’t give a shit if you have the sticker or not honestly… they’ll still give you a ticket just to make you go through the hassle of having to go to court if they feel like it.

As for intakes, why not retrofit an entire DC2 airbox into the engine bay and use some of the intake options available for that instead?

Well than you obviously have not gotten pulled over in cali the last few years, everyone knows there cracking down on that shit, they will pop you for anything.

Really? I must have missed the memo?

If you go back and read what I said again, you’ll realize that’s exactly what I was trying to say. If they want to, they’ll give you a ticket whether you have a CARB sticker or not. Trust me, it happens all the time.

LOL…:bigread:

Anyways, he’s not in California so I doubt he needs a carb number.

So then ebay header cant be much diff. then a name brand?

Ebay headers are different from the name brands. ebay headers have shitty welds and small runners. the quality just isn’t there. sometimes they don’t even fit correctly.

I wouldnt suggest buying ebay headers, like NTegraLs said, they are poorly made. The intakes r different though, i actually prefer mine over my aem, because it has a bigger diameter in the piping.

pulled over in cali the last few years

I never said that he lived in cali, i was just refering to the situation out here is bad, if its not as bad over their as it is here in CALI, than i guess he has nothing to worry about :loser:

The situation in Cali isn’t that bad. Typically if you don’t have an obnoxious exhaust and don’t drive like a dumbass you’ll get rolled for stupid shit like no front plate or tint just so they can say they’re doing their job. If you act like an idiot when they come to the window then that’s when they go out of their way to nail you for ref tickets and the like. Granted, there are some cops that just have it out for Hondas at times but for the most part they won’t bother you much unless you’re making a spectacle of yourself.

Just hope that the PoPo dont pull you over and make you pop your hood and see’s that your intake does not have the carb sticker.

Then how the fuck is your post relevant to this thread and his question? You start talking about Cali and its cops. Obviously it doesn’t matter to him because he’s not from california. :goyou: :stfu:

Oh yeah, just in case you don’t know, California is the only state that requires a carb eo#.

Doesn’t CARB stand for CALIFORNIA Air Resources Board?

i think so:D

The situation in Cali isn’t that bad

Seeing as you dont live in Cali, kinda stupid that you would make that speculation, maybe where you live cops are actually doing there job protecting and serving the community rather than just sitting around and looking for fixed up cars to pull over. FYI, my car was not even dropped, no LOUD ass exhaust or any other ridiculous mod that would make my car look stupid. All I had was a CF hood and lip, made a simple left turn and he was right there off to the side just chillin. He even said if any car looks remotely like a street racer, were gonna pull it over. He gave me this long 'oh story about how there taking classes on how to identify Illegal mods, theres special task forces just dedicated to tracking down cars like ours. All this and your telling me its not that bad, maybe you should be better informed before you start making assumptions, anyways my whole point was the legal use of the product on the street, if he doesnt have that problem than he has nothing to worry about.:loser:

:wtf: :ot: :nobody:

Wow, I guess the school system is seriously failing or the students are really that dumb. HE F*CKEN AGREED WITH YOU IF YOU CAN READ, THAT COPS WILL PULL YOU OVER FOR ANYTHING!
