So I’m running an eBay front camber kit on my teg. Replaced the bolts/washers with grade 8 when I got them and made sure to grease them really well. Recently though, I’m getting I clunking sound coming from the front (left is what it sounds like) and my instincts are telling me it’s the upper ball joint since the tie rods are nice and tight and I’m running Raxles axles so definitely not those. Plus all bushings were replaced when I did the Energy Hyperflex kit. Nuts that hold the strut assembly and upper control arms are tight as well. Basically, what options do I have in replacing these? Blox look like they will fit and so do the Skunk2 ball joints for the 96-00 Civic (basically the design that doesn’t replace the kit for our cars). Here’s a pic of what I have:
Picture of Blox ball joint (would rather run Skunk2, plus this style is identical to what I have where the bolts go in from the top, no plate with threads):
And picture of Skunk2 that replaces 92-00 Civic kit and 94+ teg kits(plate has threads, so I’d have to figure out how to either tap it for threads or use bolts/washers)
And lastly picture of ball joint that replaces our 90-93 teg kit (which obviously won’t work)
Thanks for any help/tips/advice guys. I know the obvious best thing to do would be to just order the Skunk2 kits but I honestly don’t have the money being in college. I might be able to ask for some cash from the parents but doing it as cheap as possible while still maintaining some level or durability is my first goal. And I DO have a grinder, so modifying them to fit some is always an option.
