Ebay: Performance parts review

This thread is a member review for all types of Ebay (chinese knockoff) parts.I made this same thread on TI http://www.team-integra.net/forum/display_topic_threads.asp?ForumID=10&TopicID=285504&PagePosition=2 Examples: exhaust, headers, turbos, blow off valves, waste gates, charge piping, intake piping, etc. Anything Ebay that has to do with Performance. People seem to bash Ebay simply because they see others doing it or they just have it planted in there head that anything from Ebay is crap.

If you don’t have an Ebay knockoff setup, don’t post on this thread
Any bashing or off topic responses will be deleted.

RULES

You must show a re-hosted pic of your setup describing what it is. You MUST post the ebay seller you got the item from as there are many knock off’s that look very similar. In addition, list the PROS and CONS of the part.

Ebay Rear Camber Kit (no name brand)

40.00 Shipped

Seller:
lokakech2nd
Seller Information:
Ken Chu
La Puente, CA 91746 United States

First set tore within a week, called them, they sent me a new one with no problems.

Second set lasted 2 months before the bushings tore and started squeaking.

I DO NOT recommend no-brand ebay camber kits. There are other options on ebay, look around, you’ll save money in the end.

I bought this knock of (Greddy Style) catch can and the quality actually blew my mind lol. The fittings are the only questionable part of the whole package, well and the worm clamps lol I would definately recommend these! oh yeah only $29 compared to a greddy that cost over $100!

Alright guys, back on Topic. We have established that “ebay” itself does not make these parts. Ebay is simply an online storefront. Knock off, replica, china made: that is irrelevant. A knock off brand, or no name brand, it all boils down to risk taking, hit and miss, as well as the old saying “you get what you pay for”, which implies more to the risk. Some knock off parts are actually decent.

As well as my review, I had one a while back. The Tenrai exhaust is still going pretty good. A little loud, but decent for what I paid for it.

Tenrai Exhaust Review

On top of the exhaust, I will also review the VMS (Vision Motor Sports) aluminum forged lug nuts. Also, they come anodized.

Store Name: Autodinamics, I believe.

Picture of the lugs:

You will find them on ebay, made by Vision, and they are a very high quality aluminum lug nut. Total cost I paid was $45.

Be careful with using air tools when playing with any aluminum lug nut. I HIGHLY suggest hand torquing, and tightning/taking off.

Gonna copy the format of the original post…

Ebay Seller: dnamotoring
Make: Stain-less Steal “JDM N1 Style” catback exhaust
Size: Gawd…2.5" piping, ginormous canister (I’d estimate 120-130mm) and about a 4" (110mm?) tip.

Quality: SUS-304 stainless steel w/ mandrel bend

 • Very clean welds
 • Light-weight full stainless steel piping

Price: $68.00 + $45.00 shipping

Seller: dNaMotoring
-He currently isn’t selling the same style exhaust at the moment, but the shipping was very timely (as expected, wasn’t later or early than expected) and the packaging was very thorough. Every piece was wrapped in at-least bubble wrap, and all the hangers were wrapped in cardboard and taped securely, as well as the exhaust tip.
-Seems to have really cheap items, but definitely charges upwards on shipping. Then again with a full cat-back exhaust, this seemed somewhat reasonable as well.

Overall Feeling:
I love it. The tone is surprisingly deep, and it’s not horribly loud either(to others). In my experience, it’s not loud at all! The tip is quite a bit longer than I’m accustomed to, so I’ll probably end up cutting that to be much shorter.

Price: $140 shipped

This is the catback exhaust I run on my boosted GSR. The fitment is excellent with a type R sway bar back there. The price was fantastic. I couldn’t be happier with this exhaust. It’s true 3" piping. There is a bottleneck as it’s designed to bolt up to the stock cat but that was chopped off to run a vband connector with my 3" downpipe.

Sway clearance at full droop

Ebay seller: twineagles1981
Item Title: godspeed 50mm blow off valve bov s13 s14 s15 silvia
Price: $63 shipped

This blow off valve was advertised very differently than what I got. The one I ordered off ebay looked like this:

What I got instead was after the seller asked me what color I wanted was a Tial clone, which honestly I like better.

The good:
*Tial clone
*Works great after a little work

The bad:
*The machine work on the valve was… not as good as I had wished. There was a lot of deburring that I had to do to the aluminum edges inside the valve. I spent a couple hours carefully filing down all the sharp edges and lubed up the center slide with some grease so it wouldnt wear on me.
*The spring supplied was too stiff so I had to cut it a bit so the valve would actually work.

The verdict:
Great valve if you take the time to open it up and deburr all the edges. It’s a complete functional Tial clone so if you need a different spring you can use real Tial ones and have no problems - or you can cut a coil and a half off of the supplied spring.

Ok I dont really know how to post so bare with me…

Ebay seller is alvoturk9000.

Item is Hood damper for 90-93 Teg.

I have mine on my DB1.

Cost------$50 dollars shipped.

Pros—Ive had this for about 2 months and it is pretty good…Cheap and sturdy…

Cons-----The item shipped from china so it took about a week to get to me here in Texas…it goes up kinda slow but it holds good…

Hood Damper

I’ve got the catback of the exhaust you reviewed (except it’s name brand “Tsudo”) but it appears to be the exact same. I agree with you on the pleasent deep tone, however being a canister style, it does tend to bottom out. That being said, mine is smashed in on the bottom quite bad, and the sound still remains pleasent, no changes at all… Great product for the price!

general rule of thumb:
dont trust your safety to eBay parts.
that goes for anything suspension, brake and most definitely driveline components.
if it can fail and create a dangerous situation i would steer towards the higher quality counterpart.

dont risk your safety and the safety of others just to save a dollar or two.
wouldnt want a wheel falling off because the cheap aluminum that was used in those lugnuts strips out from the ENORMOUS pressure that is transferred from the wheel through the lug nuts to the hub. or have a whole steering knuckle come off because the balljoints used in those A-arms fail.

cosmetic and some engine stuff (like the catch can and exhausts) are ok cause if it breaks it usually doesnt cause any danger.

OMG Its Weasel are you not the hominoid who was so critical of my safety concerns?

So it is ok to drive around on the street and track with your safety belts improperly mounted and a 10lbs fire extinguisher swinging from your monkey bars but don’t purchase that Ebay part.

Pot meet the kettle!

if i recall, the guy youre talking about said none of that shit was permanent. he was still using his OEM seatbelts if i recall correctly.
its not that i had a problem with you pointing out safety concerns, its how you do it. youre a huge dick who talks down to people like they are morons. its uncalled for and is obviously just your way of validating yourself to help your ego stay inflated. its cool though man, youre asian, you have to compensate for your shortcomings, its part of your culture.

e: the word i think you were looking for is Hominid, which is just another way of saying human. so thanks.

Learn to use a dictionary

Hominid = referring to the great apes
Hominoid = resembling a human

And if I am Asian that is news to me or any one that knows me, however if I was Asian I would cut off your balls for the racist, bigoted comment you just made.

I like this thread!

 it is a failing on this site. I pissed armedferrer off so he played the asain race card, I think something of free PC classes so I could learn to use it. Now this guy has to play it.

I am half asian weasel. WHAT BITCH!? Any other racist comments to add?

the heard mentality of this place is pitiful. speak out against it and you might as well chop your own balls off.

DB2- get off your high horse. your condescending banter is far worse than any “racist” stereotype that anyone who isnt a moron here will agree with. besides, youre canadian, what do you know about racism? youd be silly to think that a generalization as such was racist if you lived in my area. there are stereotypes for a reason. you fit the bill of the typical under-loved, over worked asian who never had a childhood. sucks even worse if youre not asian, since you wouldnt have an excuse to be such an asshole. i could understand if you were asian, but shit man, youre just a giant asshole then.

decep- youre half asian, not full. stop your sensationalist garbage. i never had an issue with you before, too bad it was over something so trivial. besides, racism is a subjective term, i could hate you for being asian, but love the next chinaman because hes not a stereotypical asian. i hate cracker boys too, trailer trash is despicable. i could go on and on. its about falling into stereotypes, once you do your just another sheep. like i said, sorry you got involved in a situation that had nothing to do with you so you could voice your unwarranted babble.

either way, this thread was about eBay bullshit, so lets try not to glorify your horrible personality faults any longer and get back on subject.

I have some Ceramic 4-2-1 headers from ebay, fitment was really good to my suprise. Some mid range gains.

bought from racing_guys for $70 shipped

Also have Ebay CAI. Fitment was perfect and felt like any other intake. Bought an AEM dryflow filter for it though.

Bought from Racing_gear for $33 shipped
