ebay turbo?

has anybody here tried those turbos from ebay? are they good?

no no no no they are not good! dont waste your money and do some searching:rant:

there have been mixed opinions on those turbo setups… you should do a search and determine that for yourself… I personally decided to spend the extra cash for some well known turbo parts.

thanks guys, what is the cheapest/reliable turbo right now?

yo… there has been mixed reviews with ebay turbos as stated above… from what i heard they arent too bad… however there are the turbos that have cheap seals in them so they arent as reliable but you get what you pay for… pick up a garret turbo off ebay for 250… good luck with your build

if you want a cheap turbo build go to the junkyard look for a turbo eclipse(gst-gsx) or talon tsi and get the turbo manifold make shure its the 2nd gen eclipse/talon (95-99) if you get the first gen it is prone to cracking then there you go… you got a manifold

2nd now you want a turbo… hmmm 1st gens come with a 14b its perfect for a b series engine so hey get that too but make shure the fins are frozen and spin freely then get it rebuilt and balanced for 100$ now you got a turbo but sometimes you get lucky and they have minimal shaft play but i still recommend rebuilding it

then you can get the 1st gen bov (blow off valve) for like 20$ from the junkyard or you can put it in your pocket :stuck_out_tongue:

then get some injectors from the eclipses/talons 450cc’s :excite: (make shure if its the first gen get the injectors from a stick)

then thats it… now you just need your charge pipes, intercooler, something to tune your car, and oil lines GL

14b. If you search, you should be able to find one with no shaft play for $100 or less.
