ebrake and shiter handles

Im giong to be installing aftermarket e-brake handle and the manual transmission handles. I was just wondering how i can take the exisiting OEM ones off. I tried screwing off the handle of the shifter but it woudln’t come off. Any ideas?

Thanks,
Brandon

Heh, shiter handles. Remember to flush.

Your manual shift knob should unscrew, counterclockwise… if it’s never been removed since the car was new, it’s probably on pretty tight after all those years… but the OEM knobs most certainly unscrew. As for the E Brake, I’ve no experience, so hopefully someone else will respond.

Btw, what’s your car look like? I’m neighboring ya down in Redwood Shores, and am just wondering if I’ve seen ya rollin’ around…

e-brake handles come off by just sliding it foward. it isn’t held on by anything…

just give the shifter knob some elbow grease. also the e-brake…its like trying to get the grip pads off one of those machines at the gym. keep trying and it’ll come off.

I got im my car the other day and my knob was sideways. My dad had been working on the cd-player earlier, so that must have been it. But teh OEM shift knob definatley just screws off.

I couldn’t believe how easy it was to change the e-brake…all you have to do is pull the plastic black part off and then the boot slides off right with it.

I put my Momo Pitstop e-brake handle on in about 5 min…easiest install yet!
