ecu code 8

i know it is tdc position, but what is that telling me???

Had the same problem, change the whole distributor. no more code 8. I bought my distributor at autozone with lifetime warranty for $109.

3 bolts and the dist. comes off. You’ll need to transfer your coil/ignitor along with the cap/rotor ass’y. It’s pretty easy.

It’s really easy to change. if you buy your dist. from autozone were i bought mine, it already came with the coil and igniter assembled on the dist. so that made it easier. if you buy from dealership, then you’ll need to transfer the coil and igniter.

Hey, I’m having this same code. Only thing is, there is no change in drivability nor power. Could it be that I may have a slack wire in my distributor or should I make a look at that timing?

Other question, if there really is a code 8, what would the symptoms be? Limp mode driving till its fixed? Cause I don’t have that.

i was getting this code recently, turns out the harness had rubbed through on three wires and were shorting to ground, rerouted harness and taped it up till i can get a real fix on it, havent sen the code since
