If its not one thing, its another. Finally got the firing order correct and figured out what the weird grinding noise is, and now while I was driving around, cruising at about 40, the engine acts like it just jumped time. I pull over because all the engine will do is idle. I have been throwing Code 14 since I put this engine in, just haven’t had the money to replace the IACV yet. When this happened, Code 16 popped up(Fuel Injector I believe), but all the injectors are firing properly. Had to leave the car at Home Depot while I went to work, I managed to reset the ECU and it run right for about a minute, long enough for me to make it to Home Depot. After work I went back to the car and tried replacing the IAT(heard it could cause the FI code), now I get Code 4, 9, 10 along with the previous 2. Tried swapping the IAT back and still get the codes. I did manage to get the car back to the house, it ran fine until it got warmed up for a few minutes and I slowed down.
I’m going to go double check my wiring in the morning(MPFI swap…91 Civic hatch), and hopefully I can get a couple more ideas from you guys. This thing was driving around perfectly fine for a few days and I need it back going quick.
