EF Manual Rack Bushing Kits

installed mine today everything worked out great.

god i need to do mine already. i did everything but the rack cuz i already did my alignment and dont feel like doing it again rite now…do u like the way the car drives with the ef rack as in ease of turning compared to just a looped rack

The car feels lighter now when turning. The lock to lock ratio is a little longer and it’s noticeable but I haven’t driven the car enough to see if it bothers me or not. If I find it annoying I’ll go ahead and order the quaife kit. I didn’t weigh them but there must be a 20lbs weight savings with this swap.

^^ you had looped DA rack before you did the EF manual rack? what made you switch? is this much better then looped DA rack?

thanks

Looped with the two valves removed. I did the switch cause I had the parts to do it. It’s not much better then a looped rack with the proper valves removed.

I want to do this so badly

[QUOTE=96spec;2266035]da6YO, yes I installed the DA inner and outer tie rods on the EF rack. Everything lines up fine. I have an extra set of DA outer tie rods for sale if anyone needs one.

For reference, the top inner tie rod is the DA and bottom is the EF.

Are the da inner tie rods longer than da inner??
I have ef inner with da outer and I did my alignment, and they said they couldn’t extend the tie rods too much to match the camber. (I’m dropped) I’m going to get camber kit.

im more sure they meant they cant adjust ur toe correctly bc of ur drop, but mostly bc ur still using ef inner which dont have as many threads or length as a da, i dont get why this is still a debate on this forum, USE THE DA INNER AND OUTER WHEN DOING THE RACK SWAP PLAIN AND SIMPLE

Lozano1991, I think you have a typo in that first sentence “da inner tie rods longer than da inner?”. If you’re asking the difference between the two, I posted the picture and also noted “For reference, the top inner tie rod is the DA and bottom is the EF.” I think that post should already answer your question?

i don’t believe someone would actually ask that question in a post that quoted the pic that answers the question, i’ve also been telling people for months ust the da ones but some people still just dont listen…

Seems like he answered his own question, they cant extend the rod cause you need DA inners, not the EF like you have. I don’t think a camber kit will fix that…

Your pic doesnt really show. The top one is covered on the thread. That’s why I’m asking

Even with the cap on it. I would think its pretty obvius…

in order to have the proper adjustment range you should be using the DA inner/outer tierods

Very Nice Redtegra, I went from a gutted/looped rack and the lock too lock is almost UN-noticable in my opinion. unless you tend to make a lot of 3+ point turns, I m sure you get used to and even come to enjoy it with time.

I need to do this already. Any of these still available?

X2 on any kits.

Honestly I barely drove the car. I posted that november 17. 99% of people around here store their cars the 1st of november. I kept mine out until december 1 to get some work done to it to be ready for next year  so I think i drove the car twice afterwards for short distances.

I need one of these kits! Is there any way to get more?

i just sold the last kit i had in stock, if i get a few people interested i’ll spend the money to order more bar stock and have some cut, just need real interest cause material isn’t cheap

I understand man. I’m for sure interested. Also, has anyone done with with a non-Si rack? How’s the lock-to-lock ratio?
