EF UCA's on 93 LS?

I didnt want to post, I was hoping to find some solid info in searching, but Haven’t seen a cold definately answer. For inspection I need to either get new stock UCA’s (up front) or buy aftermarket, THEN I remembered I have a brand new set I bought for my old 89 hatch, they are the rhino adjustable control arms. Just never installedthem. I’m thinking they are interchangeable between the years, but I dont know all the details. What are some thoughts about this? Thanks for the help!

I’m surprised no one has tried it, maybe I’m just missing the part that says it is absolutely worthless to try, but since they finally are starting to make some UCA’s for these older generations I thought there would have been someone who tried. Been searching all morning and all I am finding is people putting DA parts on EF’s. SOOOO I guess once i get home tonight I’ll throw them on and see what happens. I guess the main concern is going to be what happens to caster, I guess the worst for camber is it would be the same as stock UCA’s with a couple inch drop, after adjusting the ball joint. (since it seems the EF control arms are shorter than DA) If it doesnt work, at least this will be a good reference point, I’ll post results and pics tomorrow.

I really don’t know much about UCA but I don’t see why the wouldn’t fit if you can adjust then be as close as DA Spec UCA. Maybe the hole to bolt them on?

If you haven’t find any info on this, it’s your chance to make a post with pic and info about this  So newer people or those who want to upgrade will have all the info.

Thanks

I got one side on last night. Everything fits right, the edges of the control arm had to be grinded down a little in certain spots to allow free travel. I set the bushing in about the middle of the adjustment and I have about as much negative camber as I did with just stock DA control arms so I believe after alignment it MIGHT just get me where I want to be! Lots of pics to come yet…

Well they are both on now, both fit ok, but needed some grinding of the edges to clear the sidewalls in the fender. Again these were the ‘Rhino’ ebay upper control arms for an 88-91 civic. Now until I get an alignment and see exactly how in spec they get me, its not necessarily a !!!you gotta go get these!!! But both my upper control arms ball joints were shot, and it was either buy a new set (100+) or take a chance on used set, or get these for around $60 shipped. So like said above, even if they just get me back to where I was, camber wise, with stock UCA’s thats good for me. My tires, to the eye DO look a lot better, with less negative camber than with stock UCA’s.

Comparison, left side, OEM and Rhino.

another shot for comparison of size

the side to the rear of the car, that was too long and needed grinding down, before and after shots

after grinding, before cleaning it up

edges cleaned up some, with some red touch-up paint to prevent rusting

installed, you can see on the right how close it was, I pulled it off again and shaved more off that side so it didnt hit the fender liner.

all hooked in

showing the clearance for the front of the ball joint VS the fender liner (I could easily stick my finger in the space between, just to show its not going to smack the fender there on bumps

lastly a shot from up inside the fender, upside down and backwards, but again shows the gapping

On the drivers side, I ended up having to grind off more spots to make it fit with full movement, so my suggestion is just take your time, and put the arm inside where it goes and check clearances and take off as needed. Any questions I’d be glad to help, I’ll update again later this week after I get an alignment.

Looks nice, I might have to get a set now. Nice pics

I didn’t shave mine and they worked fine.
