I’ve searched and searched. Pretty much come to the conclusion that the lower control arms between EF and DA are similar aside from the radius rod mounting points.
I’d like to know if anyone here has first hand knowledge that they are in fact similar. Maybe even comparison pictures? More specifically that both bushings are the same inner and outer diameter along with the same width. Interchangeable bushings yea?
I’ll keep this thread updated. Someone might find it useful in the future.
The reason I’m interested in the differences between EF/CRX and DA front lower control arms is because Pro Car Innovations makes a spherical bearing kit for the EF/CRX but not the DA. Maybe it fits and us DA guys are in luck…
So here are some Honda part numbers
EF/CRX
Inner (FLCA to Subrame)
51393-SH3-003
Damper
51810-SK7-004
OR
51810-SH3-004 (yamashita)
Integra
Inner (FLCA to Subframe)
51393-SE0-003
Damper
51810-SK7-004
So it looks like the damper bushing is a match. I’ll have to get my hands on the inners to see what the difference is. Hopefully PCI can help.
I’m definitely in the same boat with you lol. I want to replace my bushings on the lower control arms, and looked into replacements, and the price for new arms from the dealer is quite ridiculous. I’ve looked for aftermarket oe arms, and can’t find a reputable brand or one specifically for the DA chassis as I’ve also READ that CRX/EF arms are the same besides the radius rods mounting points on the arms.
I was and am still somewhat looking to replace the bushings with Mugen EF hardened bushings and also cross referenced the OEM part numbers and found the same results as you lol. Recently I just bought a used pair of control arms from g2guru with ES bushings- not my first preference but will definitely do alot better than the original ones I have currently, so it will do for now. Though I did just notice through the forums, that Hardrace finally released a hardened rubber bushing kit for DA chassis which I’m quite excited to see. Maybe you can contact them to get a definitive answer about the bushing differences on the DA and EF/CRX lower control arm bushings- if there is any, since they offer both on their site…?
If you’re going to go spherical, check out Kingpin Machine. The guy blueprints each and every bearing to the control arm it’s going in, plus the sleeves are TIG welded to the arm, AND bead blasted/zinc plated. A little pricey for the arms, but the attention to detail is unrivaled, and will surely last longer than a set of PCI bearings you install yourself. And he’d probably be the one to answer the question about the differences in bushings between the bodies too http://kingpinmachine.com/store/products/ef-civicda-integra-spherical-front-lcas-with-oem-cores/
