My engine light recently came on… then I checked the code, it said twelve… in a 91-GS-Auto, thats the EGR system…so I took off the EGR valve and cleaned it out in case it was blocked… I reset the ECU, but the light still comes on every now and then, with the same code… can somebody tell me what the EGR system is and how to clean it??.. or give me suggestions on what else to do??.. I think it stands for Exhaust Gas Recirculation…

hey mine ecu flashed 12 too (i have auto too), what do i do. where is the egr valve and how do u clean it.

The thing I did to get rid of those damn auto ECU codes…
Swapped a 5 spd in there…
