So after trying out my googling skills and finding a whole lot of dead threads, or threads with pictures that are no longer active I’ve just decided to try my luck here. I recently picked up a set of side skirts from an EK hatchback from the local wrecker for a whopping $12 and am working on getting them mounted on my car. So far I have got them cut to length, cut off the unnecessary mounting tabs and notched the front to go around the bottom of the fender. Now I have kind of hit a wall and don’t know how to proceed from here. Does anyone have pictures of a DA with these skirts with the door open? Hell if there is a DIY out there that still has pictures that would be even better. I used the basics from another thread but that was going onto a 4 door.
theres a thread on here that has it pretty detailed…
i thought i had it saved in my subscribed threads but i guess not… its inside a guys build thread
I’ve seen it done 2 different ways. The first is to leave the existing edge in place and jam it under the door. I didn’t really like the look but it held fairly well. The other way is to trim the entire edge off and just use self tapping screws to hold it in place. I’m not a huge fan of either method though. I just don’t like the idea of drilling into the body of the car like you would have to to mount them so they’ll stay put.
