Electrical conduit/loom- battery relocation

I’m going to be doing the battery relocation and plan on running the wiring under the carpet. Are there any issues that I should be aware of if I want to use flexible conduit/loom to protect the wire? I really don’t want to run bare wire under the carpet and thought this would be the best way to do it.

Thoughts?

is that plastic or metal? plastic would be much cheaper and just as acceptable i’m sure… you shouldn’t have any problems just make sure you use a large enough gauge and when you ground it make sure to clean all paint from the surface your grounding to.

It’s metal. You normally see the stuff in commercial construction where steel studs are used. The idea is that it prevents the wire from chafing and/or wearing and shorting out.

Are you sure, that looks like convoluted tubing, [plastic] and it would be fine to use, there is no need for a metal loom. 94

It’s just a random pic that I uploaded from the net. I thought it was the metal stuff, but having a closer look, you’re probably right. I thought of the metal stuff becuase that’s what I’ve seen used as electrical line protection in various applications. Either way I’m thinking it shouldn’t hurt. My biggest fear is of the wiring getting chafed or worn and I figured the metal would be the most sturdy material against crushing, kinking that sort of thing.
