ok lastnight i was driving home it was raining and one of my fans apparently shorted out and as soon as that happened the right turn signal lit up it WAS NOT blinking just stayed on. so i got out and the front and rear signals are on. when i drive during the day it works properly… any one have a clue?
right signal circuit is probably shorting to one of the low beam circuits
try this:
remove the right headlight bulb. turn on the headlights. if the right signal doesn’t come on, it’s shorted to right lowbeam circuit.
if it does come on, try with the left headlight out. if it still comes on, try with both out
it’s either that, or one of your headlights has a poor ground and is backfeeding through the right signal. would have to see a wiring diagram for the lowbeam circuits to see if they cross paths with the signal lamp to see if that’s possible.
but pull the headlight bulb, first right, then left, then both. this will at least tell you which circuit to go after
actually, if that were the case, whichever headlight was backfeeding wouldn’t be lit then.
both headlights illuminate when this occurs?
well i just got the time to work on the car lastnight… but 1st of all i have aftermarket headlights which require a power and ground… but i did what you suggested and both lights were on but very dim… and when i switch to high beam only the passenger side comes on the and the fog lights do not come on at all and with these aftermarket headlights they come on when i switch the headlights to high beam.
