Electrical Malfunctions

Hello, I have a 91 integra with a b18a1 engine. Recently, I have noticed a few electrical issues:

  1. I have two radiator fans, but one fan tends to run when the car is off.

  2. When I go to turn my brights on my lights turn off.

I’m new to these Integras, and I don’t know how to even check these issues.

  1. Is normal. The system is designed to run the condenser fan when the car is off AND the oil temp is above a specified temperature. Of course if this is happening when the oil is not hot enough then there would be an issue - likely a faulty engine oil temp switch or radiator fan control module.

Thanks Colin! I appreciate it!

Which lights turn off when you turn on the high beams? The headlights themselves or interior lights?

The headlights.

Have you checked the bulbs themselves? On our cars we have dual filament bulbs so when you switch to high beams the low beams go out. I know it seems unlikely that both would be out but it happened to me recently. Both burned out within a few days of each other.

Have you checked your fuses?

No, ill check my fuses and bulbs. The previous owner also had the horrible aftermarket one piece headlights, that I believe are pulling a lot of power from my car. They have the fog lights, normal headlights and these halo lights going on at the same time.
