electrical problems??

I have a 92 teg 3 door. There are a few things wrong. I have been ignoring the fact that my fan comes on whenever it wants. But know I noticed that my rear defroster comes on when I turn my wipers on. (front or rear dosn’t matter which) Also it comes on from time to time when I step on the brakes. It will turn on and off with the brake for a little while then just stays on untill it times out. I was ignoring all of these untill friday I filled it up with gas and then car would not start. Acted like a bad fuel pump but I was able to eventually get it going. Not sure if the pump is going south or if the main relay is going bad. I have not been able to get it to do it since. Has anyone had a fuel pump issue? or should I go after the relay first? As far as the interior electrical stuff Is there a body control module that controls the defroster and stuff? Where is the radiator fan module? Can I buy this stuff new or reman with out going to the dealer and bending over? Thanks!!

Still have problems IC.

As I mentioned before rear window defog is controlled by the ICU, have you replaced it?

The front wiper intermittent position is controlled by the ICU.

As for the not starting, the PGM-FI Main Relay is most likely the cause, a common intermittent problem on G2s, intermittent problems with the main relay are repairable in most cases, all that you need to do is remove it, slide it out of it’s case and re-solder all the connections on the circuit board, vibration will cause hairline “cracks” at the connections.

There is also a fix, [for some problems] for the ICU, you will have to search for it here on G2IC.

I would also check dash harness grounds, you have unrelated things effecting other things.

The radiator fan control module is located on the right side of heater unit, the cooling fan relay is located just in front of the batt.;)94

electrical probs.

I bought a new main relay I will hopfully have it in a day or two. I would like to just replace the ICU but is a junk yard the only place I am going to find one? The same for the fan module? Thanks for your help I appreciate it a lot!

I would check here first, also check the dash harness grounds before you replace anything.:corn: 94
