This may be retarded but…why is it that I never see emblems on a CF hood or trunk? I love the look of CF but, also love the look of a G2 in your rear view with that big Honda “H” on the hood. I was just wondering if this was some unspoken rule of CF. Bring on the onslaught…
I’ve seen a lot of carbon fiber hoods with emblems on them, actually. I just think people prefer to keep the look “clean.”
looks out of place imo, but thats not to say it couldn’t work with the right color scheme and the right car.
Main reason why I think it looks bad is the chrome color of the emblem, something a little less shiny might not look bad. If I were wanting to run emblems over cf I’d try flat paint. Flat black is the most obvious, but color schemes on cars are getting wild w/ blue/red/green/pink… colored wheels and what not. So something other than black could look good, but I’m thinking it’d have to be flat Think 80’s NEON!
I guess it comes down to personal opinion. I’ve seen it done both ways and it looks fine either way IMO. When I repainted my DA I took all the emblems and tags off cause I just think it looks “cleaner”. Also to put them on a CF hood/hatch you would either have to drill holes or urethane them on. Personally I wouldn’t do either if I had one.
You don’t have to drill holes to put emblems on. Just snap the little pins off of your emblem. The holes are NOT there to secure the emblem in place, they are only to ensure that it is lined up correctly. The gray 3M adhesive is what actually keeps it on there. This adhesive isn’t going to hurt your paint or clearcoat and can easily be removed completely if you later decide you don’t want to run emblems.
Your right, the 3m adhesive on the emblem would hold it on, no arguments there. But whether or not to add it on shouldn’t be anyonee descision but your own. agree?

If you love “that big Honda “H” on the hood.” then that should be reason enought to put it on your car. with any mod there is always gonna be the ones who love it or hate it. Some love the huge wing, stickers all over and multicolor paint themes, some are die hard “jdm” the list goes on forever, but whatever you into its your car and your the one in it everyday. My opinion…no emblems looks cleaner but meh, that just my 2 cents.
