Ok so I wanted to delete the evap canister thats next to my fuel filter since I dont really care about emissions, lets face it a jdm itr swap thats chipped with no cat isnt going to pass let alone go on the rollers.
so i wanted to clean up the engine bay by freeing up some space from the useless clutter I still have in it.
that canister has 3 tubes and one of them is connected to a fitting thats onthe firewall.
the second is connected to a fitting on top of the throttle body.
the third is connected to a small fitting on the back of the itr intake manifold.
how can i delete this…
Cap the line on the TB and IM, and simply connect a piece of rubber hose to the fire-wall fitting, and tuck it down behind the steering rack.
would this cause any negative effect on engine performance or cel codes.
Nope. Might as well get rid of the purge valves and hook the pressure regulator straight to the manifold. I ran that for a while and gave me better gas mileage.
does that fitting on the firewall need to breath or vent out, I rather just cap it also.
Its a vent for your fuel tank, it needs to breathe. If you cap it, it can lead to your car not wanting to start in warm weather.
pics of the vacuum lines to cap on an SIR-G intake manifold/throttle body? pics of what is needed to do in order to do this? I would like to do this tomorrow or friday before I put my B18C in. Emissions are not an issue in my state (at least not on a nearly 20 year old vehicle), so my feelings won’t be hurt having this stuff out.
Im actually in the process of deleting my abs and havent dont this yet, Im kinda unsure of what exactly needs to be looped or closed so if anyone has pics it would help.
