I’d like to clean out my engine bay so it doesn’t look so cluttered in there. Any suggestions as to what I can take out safely? Thanks.

I took out my cruise controll and washer fluid reservior.
cruise control, power steering, the thing (can’t remember the name, derrrr) that holds the hood up, your emissions control (the two cyclindrical things on the firewall on the driver side), charcoal canister, then plug your intake manifold with rubber caps. Your windshield wiper motor, battery to the back of the car, windshield washer reservoir. Now that your power steering is out, take out the power steering reservoir too. To give a cleaner look, paint the screws, bolts, nuts, brackets to the color they are on. Remove AC and all the tubing and the fan.

thanks for the tips guys, it really helps. i think losing the ac may be a little much for me right now. does anybody know what the little intake looking thing by the passener headlight does? i’ve seen it taken out in a little of the pics of members’ cars…
r u talking about the thing that goes from the front center of the car… then roughts under the passenger headlight… then into the stock intake?

that is an intake resonator, something the engineers of our cars put in there to quiet down the intake noise our cars make. i have an AEM short intake on my teg and i love the sound it makes when i step on the gas. oh yeah and if a state inspector spots that you have removed emissions equipment he will fail your car for inspection
and if you remove your power steering all your friends will start asking you if you have been working out because of the size of your arms. but hey, beats the gym

sorry, I don’t have a picture of what I mention on my current car. I prefer not to deal with the hassles of putting it all back for every 2 year smog inspections. Also, I like to have windshield wipers that work when it rains. Also the rest of the amenities that make my car easier to drive and live with.
Just think about what you are doing and ask yourself, is this really all worth doing for the sake of fashion? Showcar, trailer queen, then I say go for it. Everyday driver, really not worth it.
Taking off the intake resonator should not be a problem. Most smog inspectors don’t know it would be there.
