Engine mounts

Is there an advantage of using Innovative brand mts vs stock OEM? About to drop motor (rebuilt), stock B18B1 motor. Looking for ride comfort, since OEM mts still look good to me, but car has 210k, and a friend (blkjack) recommended replacing them since engine is out and all the other freaking work I’ve put into car (soundproofing, spells, de-furring).

It is a good idea to replace them since you’re there… but they aren’t really going to be ‘comfortable’. You will feel the rigidity of your motor and it may even feel harsh at first. Things that didn’t used to rattle may start, etc. You’re gonna be sending all of the vibrating force from the motor straight to the chassis which, as I said, will feel stiff/harsh.

IMO it is something that you would get used to in a matter or a week or so… I think its worth the trade-offs, but that’s my 2cents. I replaced mine with Hasports and love em. The motor feels like it is sitting very solidly.

The point of upgraded engine mounts is to prevent engine movement and wheel hop.

The car will vibrate/rattle more just as unified stated, but you do get used to it fairly quickly.

I have a set of 75A mounts in my Civic and think they are great.

If you want ride comfort, then I would stick with stock mounts. Replacing them since they have 210K wouldn’t be a bad idea. Especially since the motor is out and the rear mount will be easy to get to.
