ok, so…
this is sort of vague i know, i already have some ideas but wanted to post and get some opinions. this isn’t my teg… but my teg is starting to show some of the same symptoms, although very minor in comparison. so I thought I would post here and kill 2 birds with 1 stone hopefully.
mild rough idle, lower than normal.
runs better when cold, but not much better.
lack of power when going up hill or accelerating.
doesn’t really matter how much gas you give it there is no power. it shakes, stutters, makes it over the hill and then runs pretty much OK.
these problems ALL seem to be intermittent.
now both cars are probably over due for a fuel filter, so i figured it was a logical first step.
but I am wondering about the fuel injectors, wonder if it seems likely to anyone else.
check engine light isn’t coming on. (but confirmed working)
I don’t smell any fuel in the engine compartment or anywhere else, the fuel pump seems to be working fine.
little more detail.
pushed clutch in, started car, kept it in neutral.
it was a little hard to start, took a few seconds.
once it started the idle crept slowly from low, to what i think is about normal.
step on gas, car died while shaking violently 
tried again, stepped on gas, car went chug chug chug chug all the way up to 4k rpm or so then ran OK.
took foot off the gas and it SLOWLY (way too slowly, but pretty smoothly) dropped back to idle RPMs.
IMO, points more towards fuel filter.
visual inspection of injectors seem fine, while car was running i played with the wires, turned each of the outside parts of the injectors and they turned freely/smoothly and i never caught any gas smell.
any opinions would be great, suggestions on other easy things to check along with replacing fuel filter would be great as well.
going to check the plugs… but i replaced them all about a year ago. not expecting anything out of the ordinary.
spark plug wires are shot. all 4.
odd issue, no clue what causes it.
i can see the holes where the spark went through, its pretty cooked.
the spark plugs came out with some carbon buildup, but nothing too serious. threw in a set of bosch i kept around as spare and going to get new wires tomorrow.
edit: got wires today, runs great once again.
