engine smells funny after hard run

1.After driving for a while I lifted up my hood and it smelled of burnt rubber, it was deffinatly my engine bay that it was in, but I couldn’t tell from where.

  1. I have figured out that something is either broken or blown in my engine. I either have a leaking head gasket, need new piston rings or my valves seals are bad, so I need to know it I would experiance major power loss when something like thoughs happen.

  2. I am wondering that if I take out my power steering that I can drain all of the fliud and take off the belt, then remove the whole thing? or do I have to put in a manual rack, like from a civic?

2 - Yes. Worn / Tired engine components definitely would equate to lost power.
