I just got the crower 62404’s and I am wondering what can be done to the engine to make it more stable at higher RPMs. I would like to raise my rev limit to 7500. With crower valve springs, will this be ok with my stock bottom end? Also, I have heard mixed answers, can a 92 LS ECU be chipped?
I looked at your list of car goodies, quite impressive. The girdle from the GSR/ITR, is it a direct bolt on or what type of fabrication are we talking about? You think 7500 redline is good with 62404’s?
The ITR/GSR is definately, unfortunately, not a bolt on. You will have to machine down the 2, 3, and 4th end caps. Then it will go on correctly.
7500 should be good. I don’t know much about the 404 cams, but search around for some dyno charts to see where the power starts to drop off. I think that they make power above the stock LS redline, but not positive.
I’m not sure what it was originally. I traded with another member and he said it was an LS flywheel. But I wieghed it and its only 14lbs whereas the ITR is 15lbs stock, and LS is 18-19lbs stock. If your interested my email is rcnacura@aol.com

You can also go for a Z10 crank girdle which is what i got (no shaving needed bolts right on), what you need to do though is get yourself windage tray, main bolts and oil pump pick up so that it will be compatible.

Its expensive IMO, but its a niece piece of 300 dollar metal! The GSR/ITR stuff will cost you about 200 including machining and some downtime whereas the z10 is bolt on and alot easier but so much money imo.
With the girdle, don’t I also need a GSR/ITR oil pan? I think I read that somewhere else also. What do you think would be better, a set of Eagle connecting rods, or my stock rods and the girdle? I am thinking, if I am going to spend $300, I would rather spend it on a set of rods, but what do you guys think? Is revving to 7500 really going to need a girdle, or would a good set of rods be sufficient?
