engine swap

For my engine swap friends. Whta do you guys have put into your G2 Integra ?

b18c1 (GSR) or b18c5 (Type R) ?

Anyone can recommand a shop to purchase a engine as well as installation ? I am in Southern California Area (714/949 area code)

Reaction!

you should definately go with the type R…it should have about 195 hp (the b18c5) as opposed to 170 hp from the b18c1. Right now I’ve got a b17a1 in my 92 gsr (about 160hp) with bolt ons so I’m hopefully making 170 hp and that’s still not enough… for the money that you’ll put into a b18 conversion though you can get a “frankenstein” swap and really put out some impressive horsepower. That’s what I’m hoping to do with mine. A b20 block, from an older prelude, with a b16 head (serious compression and lots of torque in this combo) to hopefully put out about 220-230 hp @ the crank. After some light head work though I should be able to squeeze out a good deal more power. The only shop here in Winston-Salem NC that will do it says it’ll cost around $4,000 installed (plus lightened flywheel) so it might be a little while before I get it but it should be worth the money

YO man dude, whatever, but hey

Sell me your motor after you do that, hahaha

but foreals all you really need is the b20b or z block. Don’t ever use the 0ld prelude block because it is sh*t. Don’t even bother with it. You’ll have more problems then a monkey set loose.
Don’t waste your money on a b16a head, go and buy your self new cams or a skunk 2 IM or something with that money, becasue you can still use your b17 head with that setup. Also your tranny is great for the set up too if your going all motor.

b17 b18a1 mating

What’s the best way to mate b18a1 and b17a?

what do you mean the best way?.. simply put the vtec head on the LS block. offcourse their is WAY more to it then simply that… but that is the basic idea. keeping the 1.8 displacement and simply adding a better flowing head with the vtec technology. LS VTEC. not a big fan of it myself… i know it can be reliable IF done right… but most of the time it is not… i went with a JDM GSR and i never looked back  :stuck_out_tongue:

GO WIT THE TYPE R DUDE. i just finished swaping in a jdm 97 type r into the tege and ohh man wat a diff. the tranny feels so sweet.

pboyrocker1,

Where did you get the motor? How easy was the swap? Any fabrication?
