Engine Temperature Problem

I don’t know if anybody had the same problem. The temperature seems fine for like 30 mins of driving but after that if goes all the way up when I’m on idle and then it goes down again when I drive. My water pump is new, thermostat is new, and I’m thinking that the radiator could be the problem. Has anybody had the same problem?

are the fans turning on ?

i agree, sounds like your fans aren’t working

the fan wasn’t working automatically so I put a switch on it, most of the time I leave it on just to avoid the temp to go up but it’s no help, i’m lucky the engine hasn’t overheated yet. i’ll probably try to replace the damn radiator, would a civic radiator work? i want the small one, what year is that from?

i have a total opposite problem;
When i drive my car downhill the temp goes to almost cold.
No matter what time of the year it is. The heat still stays warm, car doesnt fast idle when you stop. The gauge just goes back to Norm. Ive replaced the Radiator, waterpump, thermostat, and hoses. Bled the system many times too. Any ideas? Maybe stock sending unit bad?

Yeah a civic radiator will work (you want a 92-95) but you’ll have to fab a block off panel for the other half of the core support to maintain the same airflow you would with a stock sized radiator.
Ive only seen people run civic radiators when they turbo and dont have the clearance with a stock radiator

i had the exact problem with my car then i got a new head gasket and valve gasket, stopped the problem, but now when i have the ac on or even the temp on cold no ac and the fan off the engine will overheat just like that. try running your temp on hot with fans off should keep engine cool till you figure out the main cause. i think the 94 civic has the half radiator.

Make sure there isn’t a slow leak in the system that bleeds it down until there is air pockets in the head. A bad water pump can also cause overheating, but is pretty rare without coolant coming out of the weep hole first.

thanks for the advice ya’ll. I’ll let ya’ll know as soon as I find out what the damn problem is.
