After driving on the freeway for about an hour and under constant throttle maintaining speed at about 70-75mph I noticed the temperature will slowly creep up from where it usually sits(about 1/3) to over halfway and then when i turn up the heat, the temperature will go back down to 1/3 and stay there no matter how much throttle i give afterwards. I’m worried that in the summer while highway cruising, I wont have the heat up and the temperature will go too high and i wont catch it in time. What is the problem? The car has new radiator and the fan does come on.
Fan has nothing to do with it, the fan doesn’t do anything when you’re moving. I’d check your thermostat. Or just replace it, they’re cheap and good preventative maintenance.
could be a bad radiator cap? cheap fix if it is. or water pump
