Engine wholesalers

I’m looking for a B17A and they are a little harder to attain then I thought it would be. I’m wondering if anyone knows of any engine wholesalers that might carry it. I already contacted K. Watanabe and Soshin Trade Corporation and they both told me that they are hard to get. I was wondering if anyone knew of any others. I’m not really interested in purchasing from a private party unless i absolutely have to.

isn’t the b17 a North Amarica-only motor? I thought that they didn’t have them in Japan? I could be wrong, but they already had the B18A and B16A in the JDM G2’s . . . . so look at import junkyards in the US and Canada.

Maybe try:

Correct. If you want a B17, go to your nearest Acura Dealer or start checking local junk yards.

Better get in line… Every spare B17a is spoken for or will be in a very very short order. I am looking to start stock piling them but one things stop me… Money

i’m pretty sure the b17a is the rarest b series motor, add that to the fact that production on them stopped over 10yrs ago…and you’ve got quite a task on your hands.

typically the b17a isn’t a very good motor to choose for a swap. Its just not as cost effective as other options.

But if you’re set on a b17a…you can definitely find one. But it might take awhile. I think it took me about 3-4 months till i found a good deal on one.

ahhh b17 possibly the best b-series honda motor ever made next to the type r  good luck on your search

like the other guys say good luck finding a b17a a decent price , you can get a b18c (94 up gsr motor ) for the same price , ive seen b17a longblocks go from 900- 1800 , and b18c from 1200- 2000 ( depends on year of motor and mileage) this b17a is a rare motor and if you find one its proably going to have atleast 100 k -200 k miles on it i rather have a gsr with alot less miles , but the b17a was made for our cars and can be made smog legal alot easier since its US spec and came from our cars good luck
