Hey guys, I just blew my engine in the gs-r, and I am having a real tough time finding an engine. I really dont want to spend over 3000-3500 cdn w/ the install.

So does anyone know of any good sites for gsr engines for sale?

are you lookin for a b17 or b18. b17 is gonna be much harder to find. i would look on here, honda-tech, etc, and ebay, password, hmotorsonline.

would rather just get the b17a1 again, but if i found a b18c id be happy too.

I want to stick with the gsr engine.

Can you have yours rebuild, or did it explode into pieces?

no it can be rebuilt, but everywhere I went they say it will be over 2500 cdn for a rebuild anyway.

I would personally rebuild it myself, but since you will have to hire someone to do it, then maybe a swap is better for you. But remember, you will be swapping in an engine that already has many miles on it unless you pay top dollar. If you rebuild, it will be like brand new if done correctly.

Also, you can buy a few parts to supply the rebuilder to up the performance considerably. Like P30 pistons, ITR cams, blah, blah, and then your NEW engine will outperform the old swap you would have gotten. Just some ideas.

Another idea, buy a JDM B20 with low miles, they are cheap, and swap your head and manifolds and you will have a potent B20vtec. You have so many options, but I would rebuild if I were you, with some better OEM parts.

thanks for the info, today i called around for engine rebuilds. Its hard to get a price though when they havnt seen the engine.

But I think the Head is fine on my engine, so maybe il do ls/vtec swap instead…

today I also might have found a jdm b18c with low miles on it for cheap… they guy has to get back to me though.
