I have heard (from my Subaru days) that they start to leak after a while… and that would be bad for inspection time… I personally think they are more trouble than they are really worth… take it or leave it.
whats the purpose of that thing?
you weld off a flange from the downpipe/header to mount it, then instead of exhaust gasses going out the back, they just dump out, before mufflers, resonators and snaky exhaust piping.
helps a LOT in turbo cars in reducing backpressure
e: it can be used to create backpressure aswell, if its mounted in the exhaust path
that exhaust control valve is just ran by a wire(cord). the problem with that is that you have to manually open/close it which can be a hassel because you would have to drill a new hole somewhere around your car(most likely right beside your shift console). also your biggest problem will be clearance issues, most likely it’s going to be installed right before the catalytic converter. the exhaust control valve from racinglab.com if not, should come with a conjunction type of exhaust pipe that you have to weld on to your existing exhaust system. but from the description it seems like all you will be getting is the exhaust control valve, and the cord only. your going to have to do some welding yourself unless you’re able to find a muffler shop that will do it for you(good luck on that because it’s illegal to install anything like that before the catalytic converter).
here is a QTP Electical cutout kit (circle in red is the conjuction pipe) as you can see it’s going to be a very tight fit and will definitly stick out the bottom of your g2 if not modified somehow.
