so just rescently noticed that i have huge exhaust leak to where the flow is coming out the side of the car. ive been doing some research on if i should upgrade the exhaust while im at it, or just get a stock one from ebay. any thoughts as to what i should do. dont want to spend more than 400 for this.
Assuming your stock (are they?) exhaust manifold and down pipe are still in good condition, you might consider having an exhaust shop fabricate a stainless steel cat back system using off the shelf items. You’ll be surprised how cost efficient these things are vis-a-vis their branded counterparts (If the cat is dead or close to that then replace it as well). My fabricated system is almost five years old with no problems since installation, cost a fraction of the branded ones, and the sound is not irritating. Just tell the muffler man what you want and the type of driving you do and he’ll whip up something based on your specs.
