im gettin ready to put a new exhaust on to my teg but im having a hard time tryin to find the best resinator or muffler for her… i need something that doesnt restrict alot of airflow as my car is turbo charged… anyone have any suggestions i would have done straight piping with nothing but she’s kinda loud and neighbors complain when i get in late…
Id go with a glass pack resonator and a flow master exhaust
i big res. an a ultra flo is what i would youse an it not to loud
Hushpower II Resonator, I had one on my GSR and it was really quiet.
I am about to go with a kteller 2.5" kit using a morroso spiral flow resonator, magniflow 20" resonator, and a hytech twin loop muffler. This is using a rmf narrow header. I should have it on the car by the end of the month.
ahh just tell the neighbors to fuck off
Iif my neighbor told me to fuck off I would probably seek revenge.
Never tell someone that knows where you live, to fuck off.
sounds like a very good and expensive setup!
I ran the kteller 2.5" kit w/ a magnaflow resonator an-r header and hks muffler. Was fucking loud!!! But sounded nice!
I currently have a Vibrant Jspec header, catco high flow ceramic cat, magnaflow resonator, magnaflow 4x9 oval muffler and 2.5" piping setup. From 1 to 10 on the loud scale (10 the loudest) its about a 3.5, nice stock like tone at idle with nice low tone at WOT. Nice sleeper setup
I would look into a perforated resonator or muffler for a more free flowing exhaust. When you look right through the inlet and outlet on a resonator or muffler you should see lil holes all around. If you see raised fins stay away, it will restrict your exhaust.
If I were to do a custom setup again, it would be with either Vibrant Performance products or Magnaflow. They both have the same free flowing design to there products.
This is just my o2,

Yea its going to cost me a couple pennies. I just got the header in last week, and it is beautiful. After I get back from my valentines weekend trip I am going to order a new traction bar and half size mishimoto. Then I will finish up ordering the rest of the exhaust. I am hoping for something that isn’t to loud when cruising and somewhat hides the monster na build when I finish it this spring. Right now its just a b20b, but that is getting replaced with an 85mm non vtec running a p8r with most likely crowler 605a or some cranes.
The hytech muffler is around 400, the pipe kit 250ish, resonators 200ish, appx 200 labor since i don’t have shit for free time anymore, and I got the rmf header for 400.
Darin: For what your gonna pay for the piping muffler and resonator you could get a Tanabe touring medalion catback. According to what they advertise its supposed to be under the legal limit.
I believe theres a sound clip on youtube somewhere.

i was actually joking about that… but i guess u couldnt really see the humor through text haha
Hahaha Ok good, I thought you were a butt head.
Yea at the point I decided to go with the hytech I realized that there are many bolt-on catbacks for less, but I have been entertaining the idea of a twin loop for a while. I have the kteller stainless kit coming already; although, I haven’t ordered the hytech or resonators yet. I would have had it already, but I decided against notching the crossmember hence the traction bar. I think I am going to try the innovative setup; however, I have heard mixed opinions of them.
im getting to ready to build a custom 3" using the following
$70 carsound/Magnaflow cat
$80 18" vibrant resignator
$90 ish magnaflow muffler
$170 mild steele piping kit
$100 for 3" vbands
for a GT of just shy of 6 bills ive got a clean downpipe and full exaust, and ill probly have enuff piping to do another full system
OP if your realy having noise issues with your neighbors, I would recomend something similar.
lostsk8erchik, what’s your setup at the moment? knowing what you have now will help us to help you choose a quieter exhaust. if we mention to get for example an apexi n1 and that’s what you have well then we’re just wasting our time.
Can someone post some pics of the vibrant on a DA
im currently running just a downpipe off my turbo… i was thinking of running with the down pipe, flex pipe, cherrybomb resonator, and oval piping out the side… my car is really too low for reg circular piping.
here’s my vibrant exhaust, 3" inch, it is very quiet unless I’m getting on it…
I don’t have any sound clips, when it stops snowing I will get one.
hahahah^
