exhaust spitting out water while running? help

i was adjusting my timing today while leaving the car idle for over 40minutes, just doing visual inspection then started notice little bits of water sprouts shooting out of my exhaust. engine is running fine, no overheating problems, but water coolant reservoir is completely empty. i dont see any water leaks anywhere, so i let it continue idling for an hour, still spitting out water from exhaust tips. engine has 140,000 miles. anyone have any suggestions? should i do a compression test? I noticed water coming out before, but i just thought it was early morning condensation. but this is in the afternoon after continous driving throughout the day. help me please.

i dont think you have anything to worry about. Isnt water the byproduct of igniting fuel?

it is normal… dont worry about that and about the coolanr res just refill that out

Could this be a sign of a blown head gasket? im so paranoid, i just want to prepare for the worst. im always on schedule when it comes to maintenance so i dont want to take any risks.

your car is fine, dont worry your self…water is normal.

Actually water is a really good thing. Water is a sign of good combustion in the combustion chamber. I forget exactly but it has something to do with all the bad emissions breaking apart and the hydrogen and oxygen combining really well or something like that. Anyways don’t worry about it.

you dont have to worry unless it spills more than a bucket

just to confirm with all above, this is fine and normal in small amounts
may want to check exhaust for possible rust

HydroCarbon source (gasoline) + Oxygen + Ignition source = Carbon Dioxide + Water + Heat

:werd: plus if you were losing water due to a blown headgasket you would know it…i was having that problem with my truck only i didnt know it was blown and my truck would run hot…not overheat just run hot and i would run out of coolant alot…so as long as its just a little water and you arent losing coolant at a fast rate or running hot you should be ok

Hmmmmm, okay thank fellas. But in the mean time im going to stay attentive to see if anything else abnormally happens. i’ll keep you guyed posted. Right now its not running hot and drives fine.
