Hey guys I did something really fucking stupid. I was doing a compression test on my 92 DA… I put the 14mm extension on the compression tester hose but didn’t tighten it with a wrench. So, after testing the second cylinder I unscrewed the hose to see that the extension came off and was still in the spark plug hole. I tried everything I could think of to get it out… I’m out of ideas besides taking the head off… WTF can I do?? I’m feeling really effin stupid right now. Please help me out.
picture?
throw some loctite on the threads, screw the thing back on, let it sit (dont know how loctite works exactly but im sure it has to set?)
and try turning it back out.
just an idea anyway.
spray some penetrating oil down in there as well
I actually thought about the loctite, I think I might try that. Thanks. Would the loctite work even though there is oil on the threads? What is penetrating oil and how would it help? Also I have thought about using an extractor like a bolt extractor but I don’t want to get any metal shavings in my cylinder and I think thats a possibility if I use an extractor. What do you guys think?
wd40 or something similar.
i would try without it first if its already oily, you can even roll up some paper towel and try to clean the threads a bit before the loctite.
i wouldnt use an extractor if you can avoid it.
try the loctite first, might surprise you.
I talked to some dudes at work, they think loctite will work so I’m gonna try it tonight. I’ll see how it goes…
Hey everyone I got the extension out thanks to some threadlocker. I put some on the hose, screwed it in, let it set for about 20 minutes, unscrewed and the extension came out. Thanks for all the advice.
get a
MAGNET LMAO :gotpics:
